Lipo-B12 vs. Lipo-C Shots in Jacksonville: What's the Difference?

If you're working on your weight with a medical program, or just want an in-office boost, you've probably seen two add-on shots on our menu: Lipo-B12 and Lipo-C. Both are quick injections given by our licensed team at Cell Fusion X in Jacksonville. Here's how they differ, what's in them, and what they cost.

What's in a "Lipo" (MIC) shot?

"Lipo" shots are built around three lipotropic nutrients, often abbreviated MIC:

  • Methionine – an essential amino acid
  • Inositol – a vitamin-like compound found in many foods
  • Choline – a nutrient involved in fat transport and metabolism

The word "lipotropic" describes nutrients that take part in how the body processes fat. These shots are a supplement to a plan that includes nutrition and activity, not a replacement for one.

Lipo-B12: MIC plus vitamin B-12

Lipo-B12 pairs the MIC blend with vitamin B-12, a vitamin your body uses for energy metabolism and red blood cell production. Many patients choose it because they want the B-12 along with the lipotropic nutrients in one visit.

Lipo-C: MIC plus L-carnitine

Lipo-C adds L-carnitine, an amino-acid derivative that helps move fatty acids into the mitochondria, where cells use them for energy. Patients who are already exercising regularly often ask about this version.

Which one is right for me?

That depends on your goals, your health history and any medications you take. Our provider reviews that with you before any injection. Many patients add one of these shots to our medical weight loss program (semaglutide or tirzepatide with weekly check-ins). Others book them on their own alongside our vitamin shots.
