Saccharomyces boulardii (S boulardii) is a natural, nonpathogenic probiotic yeast that helps support and maintain the healthy ecology of the small and large intestines. It has been studied extensively and published in European and American peer-reviewed journals, and it appears to work through several mechanisms that support normal gastrointestinal function, intestinal integrity, and a balanced immune response.*

Saccharomycin 10B is made with a drying process that uses controlled temperature and low vacuum, avoiding the shock of freeze-drying. Because the process does not change the water content of the preparation, it slows aging, cell deterioration, and contamination, giving the yeast greater stability and resistance to stomach acid. The process does not require or contain dairy products or lactose.*

Saccharomyces boulardii (500 mg, 10 billion CFU) Each 2-capsule serving provides 500 mg of DNA-verified S boulardii (10 billion colony-forming units). Research suggests this probiotic yeast supports normal gastrointestinal flora and integrity, promotes the production of intestinal enzymes and secretory IgA, and supports healthy cytokine balance. These actions help maintain the normal health and function of the intestinal brush border.*

Short-Chain Fatty Acids and Butyrate Research suggests a role for S boulardii in the production of health-promoting short-chain fatty acids, including butyrate. Butyrate, in turn, plays an important role in maintaining the integrity, function, and normal flora of the intestines.*

Transient, Non-Colonizing Yeast In a multidose study in healthy volunteers, S boulardii levels rose quickly and reached a steady state by day 3. After supplementation stopped, levels declined steadily and the yeast cleared within 5 to 7 days, which indicates that it does not permanently colonize the gastrointestinal tract.*

Suggested Use Take 1–2 capsules per day, or use as directed by your healthcare professional. Consult your healthcare professional prior to use. Not for use by infants under three months of age. Do not use if you have severe immune suppression or are taking antifungal medication. Keep closed in a cool, dry place out of reach of children. Does not require refrigeration.
